Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 19, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Barrett Concepts LLC ("we," "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects information on the Local HVAC Guides websites, including the Flagler HVAC Guide and our other county guides (the "Guides").
Information we collect
When you contact us. If you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number and company name (if you provide them), the topic of your message, your message, and the page you sent it from.
When you become a sponsor. We collect your business and contact details and the listing information you provide, such as your Florida contractor license number, description, services, service areas, highlights, website and logo, and, if you choose to tell us, other counties you serve. If you ask us to adjust your logo to fit our logo tile, we also keep the logo file you uploaded, exactly as you provided it, and any other version of your logo you attach. These files are private: they're never shown on the Guides, and only we can open them. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
When you use the Guides. We use Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service that doesn't use cookies or collect personal data, to understand overall site traffic. See Plausible's data policy. Our contact and reservation forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam and automated abuse. Turnstile also runs in the background on pages that show sponsor listings, to confirm that activity on those listings comes from people. Turnstile is provided by Cloudflare and is covered by Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum. To prevent abuse, reservation records include a scrambled code that changes daily and cannot be used to identify you or your IP address. When you ask for a sign-in link, we keep a scrambled form of the email address you entered for one day to prevent abuse. We measure how visitors interact with sponsor listings, such as when a listing is seen, a profile is opened, a phone number is shown or tapped, or a sponsor's website link is clicked, to give sponsors reports. We count both total activity and the number of different visitors. To tell visitors apart without identifying them, we use a scrambled code created from technical details of your connection and browser, which changes every day and cannot be used to identify you. We don't use cookies for this and don't store IP addresses. Sponsors receive only totals.
Information stored in your browser. If you close the pre-launch message, your browser remembers that choice so it isn't shown again. When you reserve a sponsor spot, your browser keeps the details of your reservation so it isn't lost if you reload the page, and removes them after payment. These stay on your device and are not used to track you. If you're a sponsor and sign in to manage your listing, we use a cookie to keep you signed in for up to 7 days. It's used only for signing in. During checkout, our payment processor, Stripe, sets cookies to help prevent fraud, as described in Stripe's privacy policy.
How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your messages and questions
- Provide and manage sponsorships, including listings, payments and renewal reminders
- Produce reports for sponsors about how homeowners interact with their listings
- Let sponsors know about new guides in other counties they've told us they serve
- Keep the Guides secure and prevent spam and abuse
We do not send newsletters or marketing emails unless you choose to sign up for them.
How we share information
We never sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers that help us run the Guides, such as Cloudflare (website hosting, security and email delivery), Stripe (payment processing), Plausible (website analytics) and our email provider, or when required by law.
How long we keep information
We keep contact form messages for up to two years. We keep sponsor records for as long as you remain a sponsor, and afterward for as long as needed for tax, accounting and legal purposes. We delete the logo files you send with a logo adjustment request 30 days after we complete or close the request, or when your sponsorship ends, whichever comes first. We keep listing activity records for up to 25 months.
Children
The Guides are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices and requests
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by contacting us through the contact form on our sponsor page. We'll respond within a reasonable time.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
